Bislett Stadion

DSCN0588 kopiThis was also taken in early February 2014 in Oslo, and this is (the new) Bislett Stadion. Bislett Stadion is a sports stadium in Oslo, and is known for different sports events in Norway. It’s probably the internationally most known sports arena in Norway.

The old Bislett Stadion was opened in 1922, and was torn down to make room for the new Bislett Stadion that opened in 2005. The main difference between the stadiums seems to be that the old Bislett was used for speed skating, but the use of Bislett as a skating-arena ended after the season 1987/88. The new Bislett is mainly used as an arena for track and field events, football matches and an occasional rugby match.
