Kardemomme by and it’s law

Outside of Kristiansand there is a place called Kristiansand Dyrepark (Dyreparken Zoo and Amusement Park). This area contains animals, as well as a few children’s stories from Norway. Two of the main ones being Kaptein Sabeltann and Kardemomme by. Kaptein Sabeltann is a sea captain leading the ship The Dark Lady and his crew.

Kardemomme by (Cardamom town) is a small town in a story written by Thorbjørn Egner where the main rule can be read on the following pictures in multiple languages:

The Kardemomme by-law in Norwegian: “Man skal ikke plage andre, man skal være grei og snitt, og for øvrig kan man gjøre hva man vil.”
The Kardemomme by-law in Bosnian, English and Kurdish.
English: “You shall never bother others, you shall be both fair and kind, and whatever else you do I shall not mind.”
The law in German and Spanish.
The law in French

The drawn picture in the photo above is a drawing representing Bastian, who is the policeman in Cardamom town, and in charge of the law that the town is well known for.
